Ajax Cape Town Move To Cash In On Former Orlando Pirates Winger
Ajax Cape Town exercised the added one-year option on one of their winger’s contracts, amidst indication that the club is keen on listening to offers in the upcoming transfer window.
Siya sources have recently revealed to the crew that Ajax will be open to listening to offers in the July/August transfer window for the services of former Orlando Pirates winger, Mark Mayambela.
The 29-year-old joined the Urban Warriors in August last year, where he put pen to paper on a one-year deal with an added one-year option.
It has since been cleared up by the club’s chairman, Ari Efstathiou that Ajax since exercised the added one-year option on Mayambela’s deal.
“(Mark Mayambela’s) option has been exercised,” was all Efstathiou revealed to Soccer Laduma at the time.
As it stands, any interested suitors will have to table an offer to the Ajax management for Mayambela and with one more left on his current contract at the club, it remains to be seen what kind of price tag Ajax will put on his services.
As reported in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, Ajax will be open to the sale of the winger, should the right offer come along.
It was also mentioned that the player could make his way to the Urban Warriors’ neighbours, Cape Town City if the club were to be keen on his services.
Now, it remains to be seen where Mayambela will end up in the new 2017/18 campaign, or if the player will see another season in the Ajax colours.
