Dutch Giants To Come For Ajax Starlets

Ajax Amsterdam Are Interested In Dean Solomon And Leo Thethani

By Joe Crann - Aug 26, 2017 10:30 AM @YesWeCrann
Ajax Amsterdam may come knocking on the door of their Cape Town counterparts shortly, with the club believed to be interested in two of their young players.

It’s been a while since the last success story of the club’s partnership – Thulani Serero was the last in 2011 – but that could be set to change should the Dutch make a move for Dean Solomons and Leo Thethani.

According to Siya sources overseas, Ajax have shown an interest in trying to land the teenage duo, and may look to try and finalise moves for them before the current transfer window comes to a close.

Thethani, 19, and Solomons, 17, have both impressed for Ajax’s youth teams in the last couple of years, and Thethani was rewarded for his efforts by being promoted to the first team this season.

The pair have both been named in South Africa’s U20 squad for the upcoming friendlies against England and Brazil in the UK later this month, and are expected to feature against the two footballing giants.

Ajax’s interest was peaked earlier this year when the duo helped Ajax beat the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United in the ICGT Tournament in Holland.

@Myaka waliphefeni serero was given a fair chance to fight for his position after coming back from injury but he failed to dethrone the guy. What was the coach supposed to do, just play him ahead of a better player just coz he's from mzansi? Our players must learn to toughen up. Once they lose their position they tend to give up coz of the special treatment they get when playing in the PSL. Mediocrity isn't acceptable in Europe. Our boys must represent us well in big leagues not just go there to earn better n just add numbers. They must also add value to the clubs who show faith in signing them. Look at the Nigerians abroad, look at Ivorians,Togo,Ghana etc. Our boys must stop embarrassing us period

Ajax Cape Town may fail to win trophies, but the escalation of Youth to International world from this team is commendable. What are Gauteng Player Agents, doing?
