Bartlett Gets Clearance For EPL Club

Tyrique Bartlett Can Now Start Playing For Newcastle United

By Joe Crann - Jun 28, 2017 02:13 PM @YesWeCrann
Tyrique Bartlett can finally start playing for Newcastle United after receiving the international clearance that he was waiting for from SAFA.

The Siya crew revealed back in December that the teenager had agreed to a three-year deal with the Toon Army, although couldn’t play competitive games until he had gotten the right paperwork.

A month after signing, the forward bagged his first goal for Newcastle’s U23s when they took on Kilmarnock in a friendly game and will be hoping to add to that tally once the 2017/18 season gets underway and he can start playing in league matches for their reserves.

Bartlett is being coached by Newcastle and Liverpool legend, Peter Beardsley, who will be keen to see him progress now that he has the valid paperwork to start playing in the Premier League 2 Division 2.

The youngster was born in Switzerland during his father, Shaun’s, playing days and is qualified to play in England after being naturalised during his time with Charlton Athletic.

Hopefully he is as good as his father was. We need more South Africans playing in big leagues abroad. It's good for him because Newcastle is back to EPL where they belong.
