Serero Lands In France, Set To Face Balotelli & Co

Thulani Serero Is In Vitesse Europa League Squad Tonight

By Joe Crann - Sep 28, 2017 03:49 PM @YesWeCrann
Bafana Bafana international, Thulani Serero, has touched down in France with his Vitesse teammates ahead of their UEFA Europa League clash with Mario Balotelli’s OGC Nice.

Serero, who has been impressing for his new side, missed Vitesse’s first UEL group stage game through injury as they were beaten 3-2 by Lazio, although it looks like he will feature in against the Ligue 1 side when they go head to head in this evening’s game.

The South African was taken off after 59 minutes as his current side got one over on his former club, Ajax, however, Vitesse did already have a 2-0 lead at the time he was removed from the fray.

Stuart Baxter will welcome the news of Serero’s inclusion in the squad amid concerns about his fitness, with the Englishman keen to have his strongest possible side available for the upcoming World Cup qualifier against Burkina Faso.

Serero’s Vitesse play Nice at 19h00 South African time, and the game will be live on SuperSport 12.

Interestingly, Serero plays as a number 6 for Vitesse. Dutch channel BVN on 431 Multichoice shows Eredivisie highlights every Sunday night and repeats every Monday morning. Difficult to understand the Dutch commentary though. The language is not mutually intelligible to Afrikaans.

Serero needs to realise that if you play for Vettise then the door to play for Chelsea is half open. He needs to shine everytme he gets a chance and not be substituted by the 59TH MINUTE.
