English Side Admits To Watching Zungu
Sheffield Wednesday Have Watched Bongani Zungu's Videos
The assistant coach of English Championship side, Sheffield Wednesday, has admitted that he’s watched Bafana Bafana’s Bongani Zungu, although doesn’t know about a move for him.
Zungu’s name is being linked with a host of clubs at present following a stellar six months with Vitoria de Guimaraes in Portugal, with the likes of Benfica, Porto and most recently, Tottenham Hotspur, known to have shown an interest in him.
A move to England may prove difficult due to the strict rules in the United Kingdom, however a big offer, such as the €6m (R87m) one that was recently submitted could help the buying club sort out a move for the 24-year-old.
Wednesday, who have a Portuguese head coach, Carlos Carvalhal, were linked with the player recently and Carvalhal’s assistant says that he ‘looks a decent player’ having watched some videos of him.
Bullen told Radio Sheffield, “I think the automatic link is with the lad playing in Portugal and doing really well over there and obviously Carlos being a Portuguese coach. I think these type of things we're going to go through.
"I'm like anybody, as soon as names get mentioned that I haven't heard of we're lucky enough to have a computer application called Wyscout that we can go on and look at all these clips and various bits and pieces that he does and video analysis and things like that and have a look at the lad.
"Whether or not he's coming I don't know. He looks a decent player on the video clips that I've seen but hey, I genuinely - and I hope people trust me on this - I genuinely don't know whether that's right or wrong at the moment.”
Zungu still has one year left on his current contract with Guimaraes and the club is eager for him to sign a new deal.
