Agent: No New Contract For Jali In Belgium
Bafana's Andile Jali Has Not Signed A New Contract
Mike Makaab says that Andile Jali is focused on preparing for the UEFA Europa League with KV Oostende, but has not signed a new contract at the club.
The 27-year-old is back in Belgium training with his club as they prepare for their first venture into the Europa League when they come against French giants, Marseille, in the competition later this month.
Jali will be eager to get his first taste of continental football following his departure from South Africa in 2014 and at this point must be focused on persuading his head coach, Yves Vanderhaeghe, to continue his faith in him from last season.
The midfielder was linked with a move away from Oostende as he entered into the last year of his contract with the team and his agent, Mike Makaab, says that he’s just taking things one step at a time.
Makaab explained to the Siya crew that the ex-Orlando Pirates man has not signed a new deal, saying, “It’s not true (he has not signed a new deal). Andile has one year left on his current contract with Oostende, he’s focused on preparing for their European challenge in the Europa League, and he’s taking his future steps one step at the time."
Jali’s side will face Knokke and Lille this week in pre-season friendlies ahead of their first competitive game of 2017/18 against Marseille next Thursday.
