SSU Skipper Returns For Pirates Battle, Defender Doubtful

SSU Skipper Returns For Pirates Battle, Defender Doubtful

By Soccer Laduma - Jun 24, 2017 04:15 PM
SuperSport United are expected to welcome back Dean Furman tonight against Orlando Pirates, although one of his teammates are a doubt for the fixture.

Furman missed the 0-0 draw with TP Mazembe in the week as he was given chance to rest ahead of the Nedbank Cup final in Durban, but is believed to have recovered enough to make the line-up at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

The 29-year-old has played over 40 games for his club over the course of the 2016/17 season, and will be eager to see it end on a high by lifting the Nedbank trophy for the year in a row.

Meanwhile, Onismor Bhasera is a doubt after he picked up an injury against Mazembe in the CAF Champions League, and may be forced to miss the game if he isn’t passed fit for the encounter.

Aubrey Modiba and Keegan Ritchie have played at left back for Stuart Baxter’s side over the course of the season in Bhasera’s exit, although with Ritchie also battling an injury of late then Modiba may be asked to step in.

I'm hoping for an entertaining game. Pirates are lucky to be in the final after an abysmal season. Should they win, it would also be more luck. All the best Matsatsantsa.

Football agent Cleopas Monyepao says Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma has never signed a development contract with the club. “You don’t play in the PSL on a development contract. You don’t play in the NFD on a development contact. He is on a professional contract. He signed the contract sometime in March,” Dj Cleo concluded “I found Bvuma when he was already in the development structures and he wasn’t getting paid. He only got paid once he got to the first-team,” Monyepao said. Furthermore, the South African Players Union said they are preparing a strike regarding the treatment of players such as Bvuma.
