Manyisa: Bucs Focused On Doing The Job
Orlando Pirates Talk Nedbank Cup Success
Orlando Pirates’ Oupa Manyisa says the team’s Nedbank Cup Final preparations have not been affected by the long break they have had, without playing competitive PSL football.
The Buccaneers will play against the defending Nedbank Cup champions in this year’s final, which will be at the Moses Mabhida Stadium this weekend.
While Matsatsantsa is involved in the CAF Confederation Cup and playing regular competitive football throughout, Bucs last played a competitive PSL game with the last league match of the 2016/17 season, which was against Golden Arrows on May 27.
Speaking at the media open day held at FNB Stadium on Tuesday, the Pirates captain said the team is focused on doing the job on Saturday.
“The fact that we haven’t played over a month won’t affect us negatively, we are professionals & we are focused on doing the job,” said Manyisa as quoted by Bucs’ Thandi Merafe on Twitter.
‘Ace’ says the Soweto giants are keen to return to playing in the CAF competitions, despite finishing the season out of the top eight.
“It is unfortunate that we are out of the Top8 but we are in the
#NedbankCupFinal and with that an opportunity to return to CAF,” said Manyisa as quoted by Bucs’ media officer.
