Pirates Want SSU Attacker, No Talks Yet

Dove Wome Is Wanted By Orlando Pirates

By Joe Crann - Jun 21, 2017 12:53 PM @YesWeCrann
Orlando Pirates want to sign Dove Wome from SuperSport United on a permanent basis, but will only open up talks once the Nedbank Cup final is over and done.

Wome impressed at Pirates following his loan move back in January, scoring four goals in 10 starts for the club under both Augusto Palacios and Kjell Jonevret and the Siya crew has previously reported that the Buccaneers were happy with his performance.

Now, with the two clubs preparing to meet in Durban this weekend, the crew spoke to SuperSport’s CEO, Stan Matthews, who confirmed Pirates’ interest, but also explained that things were being put on ice for the time being.

Matthews said, “Yes, we know that Pirates want to sign Dove from us. But both clubs have agreed that we will only sit down to talk about it after the Nedbank Cup final.”

The Togolese forward played a total of 13 games for Pirates in all competitions during his loan spell and he will no doubt be hoping to put in a performance against his mother club at Moses Mabhida Stadium this weekend when he turns out for his current employers.

The Nedbank Cup final takes place this Saturday, June 24 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

They should also try to make a proposal for Brookie, swap with Makola and Phungwayo. Eric Tinkler would welcome them.

QUINTON FORTUNE COULD BE ROPED IN AS ONE OF BAXTER'S ASSISTANTS AT BAFANA BAFANA Baxter is yet to finalise his backroom staff, but reports suggest that Fortune could be one of his assistants at Bafana Bafana Former Manchester United midfielder Quinton Fortune is reportedly earmarked for a coaching role in Stuart Baxter's Bafana Bafana technical team. According to iScefe, Fortune is set to return to the South African senior national team as one of Baxter's assistant coaches. The SL Dominating King Blogger reports that Baxter will retain the services of under-20 coach Thabo Senong for the foreseeable future. Senong and Molefi Ntseki worked alongside Baxter for the two international matches against Nigeria and Zambia, with Alex Heredia as the goalkeeper coach. However, should the 63-year-old mentor convince Fortune to join his backroom staff, then Ntseki would be expected to return to his current position as head coach of the SA U17 team. Fortune, 40, is a qualified coach having completed his full coaching badges in 2012. He has not coached at the highest level, but he worked at Cardiff City as their head coach for the under-21 team. Fortune left the club in 2015, and he was replaced by Kevin Nicholson.
