Starting XI: Chiefs v Baroka
Absa Premiership Starting XI: Kaizer Chiefs v Baroka 30 September 2017
Teams: Kaizer Chiefs v Baroka
Date: 30 September 2017
Venue: Moses Mabhida Stadium
Kaizer Chiefs will be looking to close in on their visitors Baroka FC who lie two places above them on the Absa Premiership log.
Three points currently separate the two teams with Baroka in second position on 12 points while Kaizer Chiefs are fourth with nine points which makes the encounter all the more interesting.
Steve Khompela’s Chiefs have been playing really good football thus far in the season but have been failing to convert their chances on a consistent basis.
Baroka on the other hand are having their best start in South Africa’s top tier having not lost a match in six outings which sees them as one of only four teams without defeat in the current campaign.
Kgoloko Thobejane’s men played out a 2-2 draw in their last game against Ajax Cape Town in front of their vocal home crowd and Bakgaga see that draw as two points dropped rather than one point gained.
Amakhosi will be welcoming stalwart defender Eric Matoho back into the starting xi and Tower will be tasked with shutting down the skillful Bakgaga attack.
Both teams will be looking to record victories after playing out draws in their previous games and this encounter at Moses Mabhida Stadium presents a great chance to bounce back to winning ways for Khompela and Thobejane.
Here's how they line up:
Chiefs: 32 Khune, 18 Moleko, 3 Matoho, 4 Cardoso, 22 Zulu, 12 Maluleka, 38 Meyiwa, 27 Ekstein, 6 Jayiya, 14 Tshabalala, 9 Paez.
Baroka: 16 Vries, 6 Shaku, 24 Banda, 31 Masanamela, 21 Moeti, 11 Matloga, 15 Mothupa, 4 Madubanya, 19 Macha, 8 Mdantsane, 10 Ntshangase.
