George Lebese And Oupa Manyisa To Make CAF Debut
The likes of George Lebese and Oupa Manyisa are set to make their official CAF Champions League debut for Mamelodi Sundowns this weekend when the Brazilians host Wydad Athletic Club.
Masandawana will welcome the Moroccan-side to the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday, September 17 for the first leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals.
The Brazilians will thereafter travel away to Morocco, where they will lock horns with Wydad Athletic on Saturday, September 23.
New signings, Lebese, Manyisa and Thela Ngobeni who returned from his loan stint with Free State Stars are all in contention to make their official debut in the CAF Champions League after the club completed their registration for the competition last month.
However, new signings, Thokozani Sekotlong and Razak Brimah will play no part in the competition, as Sundowns only acquired the signing of the former Free State Stars striker after the registration deadline date on August 11, while Ghanaian goalkeeper, Razak, didn’t receive his paperwork in time for registration.
Now, it remains to be seen what squad Head Coach Pitso Mosimae will field Sunday, as the Brazilians look to defend their CAF Champions League honours.
