Serero Back For Bafana Ahead Of Crunch Clash
Thulani Serero Could Return For Bafana On Tuesday Night
Thulani Serero is available for selection as Stuart Baxter mulls over changes to his side ahead of Tuesday night’s crunch clash with Cape Verde in Durban.
Bafana Bafana go into this week’s game on the back of a defeat in Praia on Friday and in third place in their group behind Burkina Faso and Senegal.
The coach and players were scrutinised for their below par performance at the weekend after missing the chance to go top of their World Cup qualifying group, however, do have the chance to claim top spot with a win on Tuesday if the other result goes their way.
While Erick Mathoho is suspended and will not be available for the game – he is expected to be replaced by Morgan Gould or Clayton Daniels – Serero has recovered from his hamstring injury and could return to the squad. Vitesse had tried to withdraw him from the team previously.
The game against Cape Verde kicks off at 19h00 on Tuesday evening at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
