Stuart Baxter On The Problems Bafana Bafana Players Will Face In Camp
Bafana Bafana head coach, Stuart Baxter, says that the biggest problem the South African national team will face is getting over under-achieving against Cape Verde.
Bafana suffered back-to-back defeats against Cape Verde last month, September, in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying encounters, with the South African national team now holding onto a just a tiny piece of hope of qualifying for the prestigious competition set to take place next year.
“The biggest problem the players will have in this camp is that they have under-achieved in these two past games against Cape Verde. We have been massively criticised but now we have to move on and believe,” Baxter told SAFA’s official website.
The South African national team will host Burkina Faso at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, October 07 in a must-win 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying encounter.
“We have to address the issue of self-confidence, self-image, self-esteem – all those selves, and if we can’t do that we won’t give a performance against Burkina Faso, and if that happens then we won’t win. That’s where my focus is at the moment because this is a massive game,” he added.
