Tower: I Wish To Apologise To Chiefs & South Africa
Erick Mathoho Has Apologised To Kaizer Chiefs & Bafana Supporters
Erick Mathoho has taken to social media to apologise to Kaizer Chiefs and South Africa for his two red cards for club and country of late.
‘Tower’ was sent off early in Chiefs’ defeat to SuperSport United in the Absa Premiership last month before getting another red card for a kick in Bafana’s clash with Cape Verde over the weekend.
On both occasions, Mathoho was shown a straight red card by the referee, and he is now forced to miss tonight’s all-important World Cup qualifier as well as the Glamour Boys’ next two games.
With his teammates focused on preparing for the game, the 27-year-old has posted an apology on Instagram, saying, “Following the two red cards which I was shown back to back, one on the 23rd August 2017 and another one on the 1st September 2017, which saw me suspended for both club and country, I am deeply disappointed in myself for the errors which led to my sending off on both games, I wish I could reverse the time and do things differently.
“I would like to sincerely apologise to the Chiefs family and South Africa at large, I hope that you will find it in your hearts to forgive me. I promise to do better next time.”
