Bafana Bafana Captain Keen On Bringing Chan Success
Bafana Bafana captain, Mario Booysen, is keen to see his side progress further in the Chan qualifying round as they look to complete a second leg win over Botswana.
Bafana defeated Botswana 2-0 last weekend, July 15, in the opening qualifying encounter of the Chan tournament.
Despite Head Coach Stuart Baxter faced with a tough schedule of both the Chan and the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, the Englishman is eager to see his charges qualify for all the upcoming tournaments.
Baxter has made several changes to his national team squad for the Africa Cup Of Nations, COSAFA and Chan and will be set to pick his best setup for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers set to take place in August and September this year.
Mario Booysen, who was named the captain of the Chan squad, has revealed that the confidence is high in the current Bafana camp and the boys are eager to keep on progressing in the Chan competition.
“The way the boys applied themselves in Botswana, the attitude was right. Now coming to this game again it’s all about the attitude, we really want to do well and go through to the next round,” Booysen said on SAFA’s official website.
“The confidence is very high among the players in camp, we must just go out there and stick to our game plan again. Most of the boys are looking forward to the game, and we want to see if we can’t proceed to the next round and even go on to qualify for the tournament,” he added.
