Bafana Bafana Captain: Everything Is Possible In Football
Bafana Bafana captain, Thulani Hlatshwayo, says that the national team only have themselves to blame for their loss against Cape Verde but is determined to focus on the upcoming three games in order to secure qualification.
Bafana suffered a 2-1 loss to Cape Verde in the first leg of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, moving to third in the group standings.
However, following Senegal’s draw to Burkina Faso, there is still everything to play for in Bafana’s upcoming second leg clash against Cape Verde.
Bafana will host Cape Verde at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban this evening, where Head Coach Stuart Baxter’s side will look for no less than a win in the encounter.
Speaking to the South African Football Association’s official website, Hlatshwayo said, “Everything is possible in football. We have ourselves to blame for what happened in Praia; we made life difficult for ourselves by making avoidable human errors but that is football. Had we won that match, we could have taken total grip of the Group.”
“It has been long since we last qualified for the FIFA World Cup and if we do so, it will give a nation a massive lift,” he added.
