New signing Romelu Lukaku found the back of the net as Manchester United cruised to a 3-0 win over Valerenga at the Ullevaal Stadion on Sunday evening.
Marcus Rashford led the attack for the Red Devils, with Lukaku starting on the bench with Anthony Martial.
After a quiet start to the encounter, Paul Pogba went to agonisingly to scoring in the 14th as he rattled the upright with a left-footed effort from the edge of the box.
United had a couple more efforts at goal as the half went on, with Pogba and Rashford going close.
Valareng, on other hand, struggled to carve out clear-cut chances as Sergio Romero endured a quiet first half between the sticks.
The Red Devils eventually broke the deadlock on the stroke of halftime as Marouane Fellaini rose highest to head home Henrikh Mkhitaryan's cross.
Lukaku was introduced at the start of the second half and his impact was immediate, as he doubled United's lead with a powerful header.
The home side went to close to reducing the deficit after 64 minutes but Zahid failed to fire past substitute goalkeeper, Joel Periera.
United managed to add a third goal six minutes later thanks to a tidy finish from Scott McTominay, 3-0.
That proved to be the final bit of goal-mouth action in the second half, as the Red Devils saw out the remaining stages with relative ease.
