Yaya Toure's Agent Comments On Pep Guardiola Dropping African Star
Yaya Toure’s controversial agent has commented on Pep Guardiola’s decision to drop the African star for Manchester City’s opening game against Feyenoord in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.
The former Ivory Coast international is yet to play a single minute of competitive football for the Citizens this season and did not travel with the squad to Rotterdam in midweek.
Guardiola refused to go into much detail to why Toure did not get selected for the fixture, but he did state that it was a “sporting decision” and that the player did know the full reasoning.
Dimitri Seluk, Toure’s agent, took to Twitter to voice his opinion on the matter and ensured the 34-year-old’s supporters that the player is fit and ready to play.
Guardiola and the midfielder’s agent have had their differences in the past, the latest being last September when the two had a public spat over Toure’s lack of playing time.
The argument ended up with the former FC Barcelona manager refusing to play the African star until his outspoken manager apologised for his comments.
