Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata was expected to be a Red Devil by now, but the deal may be off. The Spaniard, who is still on honeymoon, was expected to be the new No. 9 at Old Trafford, but with Jose Mourinho apparently switching his attention to Lukaku, he may be playing elsewhere next season. Morata is desperate for regular first team football and is expected to leave Los Blancos, and could join the manager who signed him for Juventus, Antonio Conte, at the Blues.
Another player who has been linked, and has also caught the interest of Chelsea before, is Inter Milan star Mauro Icardi. The Argentine has been tipped to move to the English top flight for months, and with the Blues looking for a replacement for Diego Costa, this could be the perfect time for him to move to London.
Torino and Italy international Andrea Belotti is another option for Conte next season, according to the Daily Star. The 23-year-old has caught the eye of Europe's elite after a stellar 2016/17 campaign, and was among the top goalscorers in Serie A last season.
Other strikers the Stamford Bridge side could target are Javier Hernandez, Olivier Giroud, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Daniel Sturrridge, Robert Lewandowski, Timo Werner and Fernando Llorente.
