Revealed: What Cristiano Ronaldo Told Sergio Ramos
Sergio Ramos apparently called Cristiano Ronaldo to find out whether rumours the superstar wants to leave Real Madrid were true. Here is what the Portuguese is said to have told the Los Blancos captain.
The Spaniard reportedly followed Zinedine Zidane's lead and phoned Ronaldo, who is currently with Portugal at the FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia.
According to AS, who cite Spanish TV channel Gol TV, Ramos asked Ronaldo about the rumours that broke on Friday, stating the 32-year-old wants to leave the Santiago Bernabeu.
Ronaldo reportedly confirmed to Ramos that the news is not made up, and that he indeed told his agent to look for new clubs.
The Portugal captain is apparently unhappy about the recent tax fraud allegations levelled at him, and how Los Blancos have handled the situation.
In addition, he does not feel loved enough by his own club's fans despite being Real's all-time record scorer and leading them to three UEFA Champions League titles in four years.
Ramos and Zidane have apparently tried to convince Ronaldo to stay, insisting that Real is the perfect team for the four-time Ballon d'Or winner to add more silverware.
