Reports: Lionel Messi's Dad Opens Talks With Manchester City
With FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi having been linked with Pep Guardiola's Manchester City of late, it is believed his dad has already opened talks with the English club.
The Argentine is yet to sign a new deal with the Catalan giants, although there have been reports stating that he has agreed terms.
With his contract expiring at the end of this season, and with things at Barca not exactly being smooth sailing of late, many pundits and fans have speculated whether or not Messi could consider his future at the club.
The 30-year-old has unsurprisingly been linked with the Citizens, and according to The Sun, his father, Jorge Messi, has already opened talks with the English side.
In June, Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu, who has come under fire in recent months, publicly stated that Messi had signed a new contract with the Catalans, although it was later revealed that he had not.
If Messi decides not to sign a new deal with the Blaugrana, he can officially enter contract negotiations in January as he will only have six months left on his deal.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has a healthy relationship with City manager Guardiola, as well as their director of football Txiki Begiristain, who worked at Barca between 2003 and 2010.
