Reports: Lionel Messi Considering Future After FC Barcelona's Failed Transfer Window

By Keegan Kruger - Sep 04, 2017 02:59 PM @KeeganKruger

Five-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi is reportedly considering a shock exit from FC Barcelona after the club's failure in the latest transfer window.

Xavi Criticises Barca's Transfer Dealings

The Argentine is rumoured to be frustrated with the way the Spanish giants are currently being run, amid reports linking him with a move to Manchester City.

According to The Sun, the 30-year-old superstar is "seriously considering his future" after his club failed to attract many of their transfer targets in the latest window.

The fact that Messi, whose current deal at the club expires at the end of this season, has not yet signed his contract extension, which was announced by Barca earlier this year, raises further questions about his desire to stay at the Camp Nou.

Barcelona director Albert Soler has made an effort to ensure supporters of the club that the forward will soon put pen to paper, despite what is being are reported.

"When we say soon, it means soon. I want to send this message to those who may be worried," he said, as quoted by The Sun.

"Announcement comes after the agreement is signed off by both parties. The only thing missing is this formal act.

"There is no problem where Messi is concerned. There is no problem, I insist, it will happen soon. It depends on the agendas, from here I want to send a message of tranquility to the Barcelona members. Please be calm."

Nonsense! They still talking about a deal Messi agreed on a while ago? Why did he agree in the first place? The answer is simple....he is going nowhere. His heart is red and blue, no doubt about that. It's only a matter of time for him to put the pen on paper. In the meantime, he demands the board members to get their house in order....that's all.

I don't blame barca for Neyma's departure and the failed Countinho signing, I think the media is blowing Barcas transfer activities out of proportion. Madrid is the issue here, even the 2011 barca would have struggled against this Madrid only the 2009 barca was unbeatable.
