Reason Why Edinson Cavani Wouldn't Let Neymar Take Penalty Revealed?
Edinson Cavani and Neymar appeared to have a fallout this past weekend, and there are new reports suggesting why the Uruguayan refused to let the Brazilian take the penalty in their Ligue 1 match against Lyon.
The pair seemed to argue over more than one set-piece during their league match on Sunday night, with Cavani appearing hesitant to give over his duties to his new teammate.
Following the match, it was reported that Neymar and Cavani nearly came to blows in the Paris Saint-Germain dressing room, and it was also reported that the Brazilian unfollowed his colleague on social media outlets Twitter and Instagram.
According to L’Equipe, the reason the Uruguayan wants to keep taking his team's penalties is if he finishes the season as PSG's top scorer, he gets a €1 million (R15 million) bonus.
It is believed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic had a similar goal bonus in his contract with Les Parisiens, which is why he would always stand over dead balls in France.
The report did not confirm whether or not Neymar has a goal bonus in his deal with PSG, but it seem likely he would.
Cavani currently leads the club's scoring chart with seven strikes in six league games, while Neymar has found the back of the net four times in his five Ligue 1 appearances so far.
