The French giants beat Olympique Lyon, who were also unbeaten up until Sunday, 2-0 courtesy of two own goals from the visitors to continue their brilliant start to the new campaign.
Both goals came in the second half, but eyebrows were raised when Dani Alves refused to give Cavani the ball for a free-kick and instead handed it to his countryman Neymar, according to ESPN.
The world record signing failed to score with any of his set-pieces during the game, though, and more drama occurred when PSG were awarded a spot-kick when they were 1-0 up.
Cavani, who has been the Ligue 1 side's penalty taker ever since Zlatan Ibrahimovic left, placed the ball on the spot. Neymar, though, also wanted to take the kick and argued with the Uruguayan, who eventually took the penalty, only to see it saved by Lyon goalkeeper Anthony Lopes.
The Brazilian has scored five goals in his first six games for PSG, and assisted another five strikes, while Cavani sits on nine strikes in seven games, but it remains to be seen who will take Les Parisiens' next spot-kick.
