Los Blancos Star: I Wouldn't Sign Lionel Messi for Real Madrid
A Real Madrid star has claimed that if the opportunity came about, he would turn down the chance to sign FC Barcelona forward Lionel Messi for Los Blancos.
The Argentine, who is a five-time Ballon d'Or winner, has won 29 trophies with the Blaugrana – eight of them being La Liga titles and four of those being UEFA Champions League crowns.
Real goalkeeper Keylor Navas was recently asked if he would sign Messi for the Santiago Bernabeu club.
"He is a great player, but the teammates we have are incredible too. So no," he told Marca.
The Costa Rican was also asked for his thoughts on outspoken Gerard Pique, a player who often takes pot shots at Real.
"He is a great player and one of the best centre backs in the world," Navas said of Pique.
"I can speak about him as a footballer, as that's what I can see, but as a person, I don't know him. As a footballer, he is a great professional and a very good player."
The 30-year-old shot-stopper has won two Champions League crowns and one La Liga title since joining the Madrid club in 2014.
