Ex-Barca President: PSG Taking Revenge With Neymar Interest

Joan Gaspart: Paris Saint-Germain Taking Revenge With Neymar Interest

By Kurt Buckerfield - Jul 21, 2017 08:43 AM @KurtLaduma

Former FC Barcelona president Joan Gaspart has insisted that Paris Saint-Germain are taking revenge against the Catalan club with their pursuit of superstar Neymar.

8 Key Players Who Left Barca

According to recent reports, PSG are attempting to lure the Brazilian to France, a week after the Catalan club were told they would not be able to sign Italian midfielder Marco Verratti from Les Parisiens.

Former Blaugrana president Gaspart believes the French giants are trying to deter Barca from their player by distracting media and the Spanish club with their interest in Neymar.

"Neymar won't leave Barca," he told Daily Mail.

"What's happening is that PSG are retaliating because they're annoyed by a move to sign their player (Verratti). They're trying to make a mess of Neymar's situation.

"I hope that Neymar clears up that he's not going soon. (I hope he) says that he's delighted to be at Barcelona and that the rumours have no foundations."

Neymar has played 186 matches for Barca since joining the club in 2013, scoring 105 goals and assisting a further 80 strikes.

If its true then that's a brilliant move since PSG said that veratti is not for sale but barca kept on pushing n having private meetings with their player(veratti). If that's the case then they've taught barca a lesson. PSG is showing barca that they also have the financial muscle to lure any superstar but its supposed to be done on the right channels. #Huge respect for PSG
