Ex-Barca President Slams Neymar

Former FC Barcelona President Slams Neymar

By Kurt Buckerfield - Aug 04, 2017 04:00 PM @KurtLaduma

A former FC Barcelona president has criticised Paris Saint-Germain's new signing Neymar for the manner in which he went about leaving the Catalan giants.

PSG Complete World Record Deal For Neymar

The French club officially announced the signing on Thursday evening, confirming a move that seemed inevitable for weeks.

Ex-Blaugrana president Joan Gaspart has likened the player's exit to that of Luis Figo's in 2000, insisting that he has seen better players leave the Camp Nou with less fuss.

"I've seen similar situations but Neymar is in the same boat as Figo, who was alone but now has Neymar for company," he told Cadena SER.

"I've seen great players like (Diego) Maradona and Ronaldo (de Lima), who were better than Neymar, also leave Barca because other clubs paid their clauses.

“But they went with dignity, without making so much fuss. I've not liked his (Neymar's) attitude with the club, with the supporters and with his teammates."

Neymar played 186 games for Barca, scoring 105 goals and assisting a further 80 strikes.

Yes, actually I do.I still believe there was no reason for him pulling such stunts like fighting with a team mate and throwing tantrums to get the attention of whoever it is he wanted to.That for me was stepping way low for him when he could have just left peacefullying

You must be high on Bluetooth Joan, they (Barca) wanted to refuse to let him go even after his big release clause was activated, so what do expect Neymar to do? Old fool

I agree with this matured statement. No sour grapes, simple truth. In our field of operation, one should leave with a great deal of respect. When you resign to the next employer, you should serve your required notice, approach your current employers with a good level of dignity and leave in a good spirit. Afterall you just doing what is right and not what everyone like.
