Gerard Pique In Tears As He Offers Spain Retirement

By Kurt Buckerfield - Oct 02, 2017 07:59 AM @KurtLaduma

Defender Gerard Pique was in tears after FC Barcelona’s 3-0 win this weekend, as he offered to quit the Spanish national team.

Barca To Play In EPL If Axed From La Liga?

Riot police in Spain are believed to have raided polling stations across Catalonia on Sunday in order to stop their vote for independence, with some reports suggesting that more than 300 people were injured in the process.

Pique, a proud Catalan, made his views on the matter loud and clear after Barca's game, insisting that if he is seen as a problem in the Spanish national team, he will retire from his duties.

"If any directors or if the Spanish FA believe that I could be a problem or annoy the national team then I am willing to step aside," he told Eurosport.

"I am proud of the Catalan people.

"This has been my worst experience as a professional.

"We have had seven years of demonstrations without violence and what happened today has been seen around the world."

Neymar's Massive Salary Revealed?

Barca's 3-0 win over Las Palmas was played behind closed doors on Sunday.

Do you think Pique will be booed if he plays for Spain again? Let us know in the comments section below.

Golden boots wa hlanYa.. Only Pique,Puyol,Xavi and Busquets played a key role in Spain winning World Cup other Catalan players such as Fabregas were bench warmers..players like Casillas,Ramos,Capdevila,David Villa,David Silva are Spanish players nd they also played a key role in that 2010 World cup.

Terrible decision by the Spanish government to try to stop the vote. If they consider the referendum to be illegal they should take the catalan politicians who organised it to court. Any attempt to stop people from voting was always going to end this way and it doesn't help them at all. This will only make the catalans even more sure that they want to secede.

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane and captain Hlompho Kekana were among the winners at the Gauteng Sports Awards at SilverStar Casino in Krugersdorp on Sunday night. Mosimane was named Coach of the Year, beating Golden Lions rugby tactician Johannes Nthooro Mongalo and Kelsey White of Central Gauteng Water Polo. Kekana won the Sports Personality of the Year accolade ahead of Banyana Banyana star Janine van Wyk - who was denied the Sportwoman of the Year gong by Tanita Ramburuth Hurt - and athletes Luvo Manyonga and Sheldon Thomas. Kekan missed out on the Sportman of the Year prize to rower Lawrence Brittian. Sundowns were also crowned Sports Team of the Year, amid competition from the Lions and Wits Tang Soo Do (martial arts), following their CAF Champions League heroics last season.

@Ringo69 says who?why must Barca campaign in those leagues?if Catalonia breaks away from Spain, they'll have their own league, teams will emerge to fill the void to fill up the league numbers, team's will come rolling just to compete with Barca.and if Laliga decide to kick out Barca, fifa will ban them, they won't participate in UEFA, Spain won't participate in fifa games.Spain will never travel that road
