Former Barca Star: Real Madrid Target Is Not Worth £120m

By SL International - Jun 17, 2017 11:01 AM

A former FC Barcelona star claims Real Madrid's reported transfer target, AS Monaco wonderkid Kylian Mbappe is not worth £120m.

Mbappe enjoyed a breakout season with Monaco, scoring 26 goals in all competitions, as the club went on to win the Ligue 1 title and reach the UEFA Champions League final.

The 18-year-old has reportedly attracted interest from Los Blancos, Manchester United, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.

Monaco are believed to have valued Mbappe at  £120m, but former Barca star Eric Abidal claims that figure is too much.

"Mbappe is a good player, but his price is not £120m," Abidal told Cadena Ser.

"I still think he wants to stay in Monaco and confirm his level there.

"He has to make a decision also thinking about his game minutes, because this is the year of the World Cup."

"When you start to pay £100m as was done by Pogba, then for a player with more talent you have to reach £200m and that does not represent the value of the players.

"Here at Barca, what price would be paid for [Lionel] Messi or Neymar?"

That boy,to me, is a special one. He could cost any team any amount, but £120m. This, usually, then affects the player in question when fans demand the worth out of his boots on the pitch. These kinda issues end with players being loaned out after failing to print the mark of their worth on the ridiculously demanding and furious competitions.

I fully agree, £120m is too much for the boy who still needs to prove himself by giving same performance as last season for at least three consecutive seasons.

@Siya@ngcolosi pKT, yes he can definitely do it but might have to compromise his style a bit to suit the hit & run there and that's not good. So the same way Messi cannot find an EPL Barça it's how the EPL would never find Messi.

Question is can he perform the way he usually does when he plays in the EPL ? Maybe he can succeed in La Liga since Ronaldo is able to score 15 goals in 3 games with an injury I'm just saying either than that yhe boy is good.

@Mpho Poster, anything like mvela, EPL, would struggle to meet the standards of the greatest player ever. The question is.....can they play like Barca or just "skop en donner", "hit & run" ???

Agents are making money these days. You know what? 50% of that money goes into the club's bank, 35% goes to the agent and 15% is a sign-on fee for the player. I am going to be an agent too, just drinking coffee but making crazy money

True, these players are way over priced and this puts a lot of unnecessary pressure on them.

He is worth every cent there. Isn't all about Barca players here. Mbappe is not an agent, he is just merely player nje. If they value him up to that amount then what? Guys don't be jealous, the boy is very very good.
