Xavi Hernandez: I Want To Coach This Nation
Former FC Barcelona star Xavi Hernandez has revealed that he would like to coach a certain country in the future.
The Spaniard, who spent 17 years in the senior team at the Camp Nou, has made it clear he would like to take up management as soon as he is done playing, but until now has never made it clear who he would want to coach.
The 37-year-old, who currently plays football for Al-Sadd, shocked members of the media this week when he announced that he wants to manage the Qatar national team one day.
"I'm here to help players improve so that they can compete with the rest of the world," Xavi said at a press conference, as quoted by Marca.
"I aim to be the coach, it would good for me, and I need some experience for my future career. I have the advantage of knowing the Qatari players and the football environment here."
The Gulf nation is the host of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and there is seemingly now a possibility Xavi will be the country's coach for the tournament.
