Ghanaian Giants' Team Bus Involved In Horrific Crash

The team bus carrying Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko was involved in a horrific accident on Wednesday night.

The incident happened while the club was travelling back home from Accra after their 1-0 loss to Inter Allies in the Ghana Premier League.

According to the Kotoko’s Twitter account, the bus collided with a stationary vehicle at 9:45 pm in Nkawkaw and it was confirmed that there have been a few injuries.

Since the crash, it was reported that there has been one casualty and multiple injuries due to the incident.

The Ghana Football Association released a statement on their website expressing their sadness about the event that has unfolded.

"The Ghana Football Association has learnt with sadness (of) an accident involving the team bus of Kumasi Asante Kotoko on their return to Kumasi following their Premier League match with Inter Allies in Accra on Wednesday," reads the statement.

"The GFA and the entire football fraternity is devastated by the sad development.

"The GFA has established contact with the club, and our thoughts and prayers are with Kumasi Asante Kotoko, particularly the injured officials and players, who are currently receiving treatment at the Holy Family Hospital in Nkawkaw.

"We urge all to pray for our brothers at this difficult moment."

Kotoko has won their country’s top division 23 times in their history, their last Ghanaian league title came back in 2014.
