Zlatan Ibrahimovic Offered To Real Madrid?
Zlatan Ibrahimovic's contract with Manchester United expires at the end of the month, and the latest reports suggest he has been offered to Real Madrid.
The Swede is currently still recovering from a serious knee injury, which will reportedly keep him out of action until the new year.
His long recovery process means his future is uncertain as United could not commit to paying his massive salary without having him available to play.
Jose Mourinho has reportedly identified Real's Alvaro Morata as Ibrahimovic's replacement and his new main striker at the club. With the Spaniard having netted 20 goals for Los Blancos last season, his potential transfer to United would leave a gap in Zinedine Zidane's squad.
According to Don Balon, Ibrahimovic, who reportedly has interest from Major League Soccer clubs but wants to stay in Europe, has been offered to Real.
The journeyman would not require a transfer fee as he will soon be out of contract, but would probably ask for massive wages – nothing the MAdrid club could not handle, but it would be a massive gamble.
Uncertainty around the 35-year-old's return to fitness, however, has resulted in Real reportedly deciding against seriously considering signing the Swede.
Meanwhile, AS have stated that Real's crosstown rivals Atletico Madrid are also monitoring Ibrahimovic's situation.
With their main target, Alexandre Lacazette, likely to sign for another club in this window, Atletico could allow Ibrahimovic to continue his recovery in Spain before running out for them in 2018.
The Rojiblancos are still banned from the transfer market and are not allowed to register any new players until January next year.
Ibrahimovic scored 28 goals in 46 games for United last season, and helped the Red Devils lift three trophies along the way.
