Reports: Tottenham Hotspur To Hijack Chelsea Striker Target
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly ready to hijack one of Chelsea's deadline day transfers.
According to BBC Sport, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has made a late bid for Swansea City striker and Blues target Fernando Llorente.
The Stamford Bridge club was said to be in pole position to land the Spanish frontman, but could now be beaten to the finish line by the Welsh outfit.
Antonio Conte worked with Llorente during their time together at Juventus, and apparently wants the 32-year-old to provide competition for Alvaro Morata and Michy Batshuayi.
Spurs manager Pochettino is also said to be looking to strengthen and add depth to his striking department, especially with Harry Kane having failed to get going so far this season.
The report claimed that the Blues do not want to lose out on yet another one of their targets, and are expected to put in a counter-offer for the in-demand striker.
Llorente has made 35 appearances for Swansea so far, scored 15 goals along the way.
