Reports: Romelu Lukaku Has Manchester United Medical In The US
Jose Mourinho's Manchester United are one step closer to announcing Romelu Lukaku as their player after the striker reportedly underwent a medical in the US.
According to the Daily Mirror, the Belgium international had a medical in the city of Los Angeles on Thursday evening.
The Red Devils are apparently hoping to conclude this deal in the next 24 hours as they want the 24-year-old striker to begin pre-season training with them on Monday.
Many reports suggest that France international and Lukaku's good friend Paul Pogba has had a big influence in the forward's decision to join the Old Trafford club.
The two players have been on holiday together on the west coast of America, and both are expected to join up with Jose Mourinho's squad in Los Angeles on Sunday.
Lukaku is understood to have been offered a four-year deal, with an option to extend for a further 12 months, and is apparently set to earn £200 000 (R3.4 million) a week.
There has also been talk that the Red Devils' successful pursuit of the Belgian does not mean their interest in Real Madrid's Alvaro Morata has ended.
Lukaku made 39 appearances for Everton last season, scoring 26 goals and assisting seven further strikes in all competitions.
