Reports: Real Madrid Set To Sell Star To Make Room For Kylian Mbappe
Spanish giants Real Madrid are reportedly set to sell one of their star players in order to make room for Monaco starlet Kylian Mbappe.
According to Marca, Los Blancos wants to sell a star player in order to raise funds, and it is likely to be Wales international Gareth Bale.
Zinedine Zidane is said to be warming up to the idea of signing Mbappe in this transfer window, but knows he will need to sell one of his stars to do so and is apparently leaning towards Bale.
The 28-year-old had a disappointing campaign last season, struggling with injuries and form at crucial times.
The Spanish publication stated that Zidane does not want four big names competing for two places in the starting XI, and it is unlikely that he will sell fellow countryman Karim Benzema or record holder Cristiano Ronaldo.
Bale has been linked with a move back to the Premier League on more than one occasion, and many believe that Manchester United could be his next destination.
The Red Devils have a longstanding interest in the forward, but will apparently not pursue him if there is no indication he is unhappy at the Santiago Bernabeu.
