Reports: Real Madrid Line Up Alvaro Marata's Replacement

By Keegan Kruger - Jul 06, 2017 09:00 PM @KeeganKruger

Spanish giants Real Madrid have reportedly identified a replacement for Alvaro Morata, who is expected to leave the club.

Reports: Chelsea Agree Deal For German Star

According to Spanish news outlet Diario Gol, Zinedine Zidane has told the Los Blancos board to keep a close eye on Germany international and RB Leipzig star Timo Werner.

The 21-year-old recently helped his national team lift the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia for the first time in their history.

Werner, who is three years younger than Morata, is considered one of Germany's top young prospects, and Real would apparently love to have him on board if they are to lose their Spanish forward.

Morata is expected to leave the Santiago Bernabeu as he has struggled break into Zidane's starting XI, and wants to be a regular starter.

Werner made 32 appearances for Leipzig last season, scoring 21 goals and assisting seven further strikes in all competitions.

Do you think the German would be a decent replacement for Morata? Have your say in the comments section below.
