Reports: Manchester United To Lose Out On African Star
Jose Mourinho's Manchester United are reportedly set to lose out to a Premier League rival in their chase for an African star in this transfer window.
According to Sky Sports, Ivory Coast international Serge Aurier is close to completing a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur.
The Paris Saint-Germain player has been granted a work permit enabling him to enter England and finalise his move to the Premier League.
The 24-year-old, who was handed a suspended two-month prison sentence for the assault of a police officer outside a Paris nightclub, was initially not allowed in the United Kingdom until his court case was heard.
The report claimed that Spurs will pay PSG about £23 million (R387 million) for Aurier, who has apparently already completed a medical and agreed personal terms with the London side.
The Ivorian is believed to be the replacement for Kyle Walker, who moved to Manchester City for a transfer fee of £50 million (R842 million) in July.
