Reports: Manchester United Agree Deal For Romelu Lukaku
Premier League giants Manchester United have reportedly agreed a fee in the region of £75 million (R1.3 billion) for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.
According to BBC Sport, the Red Devils are hoping to get the deal done in the next few hours as they want the forward to join the club's pre-season tour of the US, for which they will leave on Sunday.
The report also stated that, as a result, the Old Trafford club are no longer pursuing Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata.
The Daily Mirror suggested earlier this morning that Jose Mourinho wanted the Red Devils to sign the Belgium striker in this transfer window, and that he told the club to offer England international Wayne Rooney in part exchange.
Everton chairman Bill Kenwright reportedly held talks with Rooney's adviser Paul Stretford over a possible move on Wednesday. The Toffees' owner is apparently desperate to see the 31-year-old back at the Merseyside club after 13 years.
Lukaku made 39 appearances for Everton last season, scoring 26 goals and assisting seven further strikes in all competitions.
