Reports: FC Barcelona Target Tells Arsene Wenger He Wants To Leave Arsenal
One of FC Barcelona's transfer targets has reportedly told Arsenal he wants to leave them.
According to The Sun, Spain defender Hector Bellerin has told the Gunners board he wants to rejoin his boyhood club, but manage Arsene Wenger has apparently asked that the club reject the player's plea.
The La Liga giants are in desperate need of a right back, a void they have failed to fill adequately ever since Dani Alves left the club at the beginning of the 2016/17 campaign.
The fullback is expected to cost the Blaugrana a hefty fee as he reportedly signed a six and a half year deal worth a hefty £200 000 (R3.4 million) a week in November last year.
The Spaniard is keen to move back to his home country now that his mom and dad are back in the Catalan city.
Bellerin played a big part in Arsenal's two FA Cup triumphs in recent years, but apparently feels he should be challenging for bigger trophies.
The 22-year-old made 42 appearances for the Gunners last season, scoring one goal and assisting five further strikes in all competitions.
Wenger is also said to be at risk of losing Alexis Sanchez's services in this transfer window, with many believing the attacker could be heading to Manchester City.
Do you think Bellerin will follow in the paths of Cesc Fabregas and Thierry Henry, who left Arsenal for the Catalan club? Have your say in the comments section below.
