Reports: FC Barcelona Need Pay R2.3bn For French Starlet
Spanish giants FC Barcelona will reportedly need to pay £135 million (R2.34 billion) if they want to sign this much sought after French starlet.
According to The Sun, the Blaugrana are keeping a close eye on Borussia Dortmund forward Ousmane Dembele.
The Catalans are said to be desperate to fill the void left by Brazil international Neymar following his world record move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Dortmund are reportedly standing firm regarding the player's future, and it is believed they have already rejected bids from Arsenal and PSG.
The report claimed that the German club will not listen to any offers of less than £135 million (R2.34 billion), a fee that would make the youngster the second most expensive player ever.
Barcelona have apparently sent a delegation to Germany to negotiate a deal of some sort, but BVB are said to be adamant on their price for the player.
In a surprising twist, the Bundesliga club revealed on Thursday afternoon that Dembele did not report for training, and coach Peter Bosz admitted that he had no idea where the player is right now.
"Dembele was not in training today. We do not know where he is and we could not reach him." Bosz said in a press conference, according to the BVB's official Twitter account.
The 20-year-old has made 50 appearances for the Dortmund club since joining them last season, scoring 10 goals and assisting a further 22 strikes along the way.
