Reports: FC Barcelona Close To Reaching Agreement For Premier League Star
Spanish giants FC Barcelona are reportedly close to sealing a deal for a Premier League star, and are hoping to complete the formalities this week.
According to The Sun, the Catalans are confident they will secure Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho's signature over the next few days.
The Blaugrana, who have apparently already had a bid of £72 million (R1.2 billion) rejected for the player, are set to offer the English club £90 million (R1.57 billion) for their star player.
Barcelona are said to be desperate to replace Neymar, who left the Camp Nou for Paris Saint-Germain last week, but Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has insisted, on numerous occasions, that the 25-year-old midfielder is not for sale this season, despite all the rumours.
Coutinho has apparently told the Catalan club he would like to play for them, according to Spanish media, but any deal would depend on them reaching an agreement with Liverpool.
The Brazilian missed his club's friendly against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday with a back complaint, and many believe Liverpool arre set to receive a massive offer for the player this week.
Coutinho made 36 appearances in all competitions for the Reds last season, scoring 14 goals and assisting nine further strikes.
