Reports: Cristiano Ronaldo Tells Neymar Not To Join Paris Saint-GermainChamp84DM
Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly told Neymar not to leave FC Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain.
According to Diario Gol, the Portuguese winger contacted the Brazilian and told him he would be making a big mistake if he decided to move to France.
The two players are said to have built up a good relationship with each other through their shared sponsor Nike, and when not playing for their clubs, they apparently keep in touch quite regularly.
Ronaldo is said to have sent Neymar a series of WhatsApp messages in recent weeks, urging him to resist the temptation of joining the Ligue 1 club – the Los Blancos forward feels the 25-year-old should consider a move to Manchester United instead if he is desperate to leave the Spanish side.
Ronaldo feels his former club ranks as high as the Catalan giants in global status, and that Neymar would still be seen as a football icon there as a result.
PSG are reportedly willing to pay the Brazil international about £500 000 (R8.3 million) a week.
Neymar is currently on tour with the Blaugrana in the United States, and scored both goals in his side's recent 2-1 win over Juventus in the International Champions Cup.
