Reports: Brazilian Star Rejects FC Barcelona Move For Manchester United
A Brazil international has reportedly rejected the opportunity to join FC Barcelona as he hopes to join Jose Mourinho's Manchester United instead.
According to Spanish publication Don Balon, Monaco midfielder Fabinho has turned down the chance to join the Blaugrana because he wants a move to the Red Devils instead.
United are said to be looking to strengthen their squad for the coming season as they are aiming to fight for the Premier League title and go as far as possible in the UEFA Champions League.
Mourinho, who has already made one signing in this window, is looking to beef up his midfield, and has been closely linked with Chelsea's Nemanja Matic and Fabinho.
The 23-year-old Monaco star played an important role in the Ligue 1 club's title-winning 2016/17 campaign, and many feel his versatility could be exactly what the Red Devils need.
Back in February, the Brazilian admitted there was a lot of interest in his services, and seemed to suggest even then that he wanted to join the English giants.
"We have talked to Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, we have even been approached by Barcelona, but it didn't go any further," Fabinho said, as quoted by Don Balon.
"We like Manchester United and the work of (Jose) Mourinho."
The Ligue 1 star made 55 appearances for Monaco last season, scoring 12 goals and assisting six further strikes in all competitions.
