Reports: Arsenal To Consider R653m bid For Manchester United Starlet
FA Cup holders Arsenal are reportedly considering offering £40 million (R653 million) for one of Manchester United's starlets.
According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners are preparing a bid for Anthony Martial if their attempt to sign Monaco's Kylian Mbappe is unsuccessful.
The Red Devils star is believed to have dropped down the UEFA Europa League winners' pecking order after a poor 2016/17 campaign.
The London side is said to be targeting Mbappe, but reports suggest that the striker is keener on a move to Spain than England.
Arsene Wenger wants to make sure he has a back-up plan in case he misses out on the French attacker, and has apparently identified Martial as an ideal alternative.
The 21-year-old became the world's most expensive teenager when Louis van Gaal splashed £36 million (R594 million) to sign him from Monaco in 2015, when he was 19 years old.
The former Monaco star made 42 appearances for the Red Devils last season, scoring eight goals and assisting eight further strikes along the way.
