Report: Real Madrid Ready To Sell R1bn Star
Real Madrid are reportedly ready to sell one of their biggest stars, who is said to be valued at R1.06 billion.
Los Blancos have already cashed in on Alvaro Morata, Danilo and James Rodriguez in this window, but are now apparently prepared to sell Karim Benzema.
Club president Florentino Perez is keen to bring in Monaco starlet Kylian Mbappe for a world record fee of €180 million (R2.7 billion), and Diario Gol have claimed that he is prepared to sell the former Lyon striker to help fund the move.
Benzema joined the club in 2009, and Perez reportedly believes it is now the right time to cash in on the 29-year-old.
Real will reportedly command a £62.6 million (R1.06 billion) fee for the Frenchman, even though Zinedine Zidane is reportedly a fan of his countryman.
Benzema netted 19 goals and assisted another nine strikes in 48 appearances for the Madrid giants last season, and Perez apparently believes Mbappe would be the right long-term replacement for him.
