Report: Neymar Told FC Barcelona Teammates He'll Leave
FC Barcelona superstar Neymar has reportedly told his teammates he will leave, with the latest El Clasico being his final game for the Catalan giants.
The Brazilian has been heavily linked with a world record move to French giants Paris Saint-Germain, and a deal could reportedly be announced this week.
The Daily Mail has claimed that Neymar has bid farewell to his Barcelona teammates, and is now waiting for PSG to pay his €222 million (R3.4 billion) release clause.
The 25-year-old was supposed to appear at a sponsor event, representing FC Barcelona and Nike, in China on Monday, but the organisers cancelled it due to "transfer issues".
However, Neymar did not travel back to Barcelona with the rest of the Blaugrana squad after their 3-2 El Clasico friendly win over Real Madrid, and still made the trip to the Far East.
"Greetings to the fans in China! I'm Neymar Jr, this is my official Weibo account. I am going to be sharing my own personal experiences here with Chinese fans," he wrote on his Weibo account.
"I'm looking forward to your following and reposting! See you in Shanghai on Monday!"
Neymar will apparently fly to Qatar from China on Tuesday to meet PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and complete a medical, according to the Daily Mirror.
A potential world record deal could be announced on Wednesday, but the French giants are apparently still making sure they will not break Financial Fair Play regulations by paying the Brazilian's release clause.
