A Real Madrid target could reportedly become the third highest paid goalkeeper in the game if he snubs interest from the Spanish giants.

Gianluigi Donnarumma was set to leave AC Milan after contract talks between the club and the player's agent, Mino Raiola, broke down.

The 18-year-old's current deal expires in June 2018, and it was suggested that Donnarumma will either sign a new deal or leave the club in this window.

Reports in Italy and Spain linked him heavily with a move to Los Blancos, but it seems the player has now made a U-turn on his decision to leave the Rossoneri.

The latest reports in Gazetta dello Sport suggest that the Italy shot-stopper will sign a new contract on Wednesday.

The new deal will reportedly see Donnarumma pocket €6 million (R90 million after tax) a year, making him the highest paid player at Milan.

With the massive annual wages, the teenager would earn more than Italy No. 1 Gianluigi Buffon, who reportedly earns €4 million (R60 million) a year at Juventus.

Manuel Neuer, with €9 million (R135 million), and David se Gea, with €6.8 million (R102 million), will remain the only two goalkeepers to earn more than the 18-year-old.

Do you think an 18-year-old should earn such a massive annual salary? Have your say in the comments section below.
