Jose Mourinho: I Will Not Sell This Manchester United Star
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has rubbished claims that he is willing to sell one of his star players in the coming week.
The former Chelsea manager was swamped with questions about Belgium midfielder Marouane Fellaini's future after Turkish club Galatasaray's sporting director Cenk Ergun suggested that his side were in pole position to sign the player.
Speaking after his side's 3-0 friendly win over Valerenga on Sunday, Mourinho quickly ended the speculation by saying there is no chance Fellaini would be leaving Old Trafford.
"It's easier for Galatasaray to get me than to get Marouane," the Portuguese tactician told reporters, as quoted by FourFourTwo.
"Forget it. He's too important to me."
Mourinho quickly changed to the topic to his new striker Romelu Lukaku, who scored a goal in the game with virtually his first touch of the ball.
"It's nice. Strikers like to score goals," he added.
"It's not important for me but probably it is for him, for his confidence.
"We managers are many times happy with strikers, even when they don't score, because of the way they participate in team organisation and game plans. But to them, scoring goals is always important."
Mourinho is reportedly close to adding midfielder Nemanja Matic to his squad in the next couple of days, a move that may see Fellaini get less game time than in previous seasons.
