Transfer Update: Coutinho
Transfer Update: Philippe Coutinho
With Spanish giants FC Barcelona said to be chasing Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho's signature, here is the latest on the Brazil international's future.
After selling Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain last week, the Catalan club are said to be looking to bring in a few top players to restore some faith among their supporters.
According to The Guardian, however, Liverpool rejected yet another bid for Coutinho, an offer of around £90 million (R1.5 billion) on Wednesday.
It was reported that the Merseyside club refused a bid for their star last month, and despite Barca improving their offer, The Reds remain unwilling to sell.
Reports in Spain suggested that an agreement between the clubs was imminent, but this was later quashed by well-known football journalist Guillem Balague, who claimed the news was fake.
Jürgen Klopp has also insisted the Selecao superstar is not for sale, while the player has reportedly behaved impeccably amid the speculation.
Coutinho has reportedly not asked to leave Liverpool, but it has been said that he could be interested in a move to the Camp Nou, where he could reunite with former teammate Luis Suarez.
