Reports: Two Stars Demanded To Leave Arsenal

Reports: Two Stars Demanded To Leave Arsenal

By Keegan Kruger - Sep 05, 2017 11:00 AM @KeeganKruger

In the midst of Alexis Sanchez' transfer saga on deadline day, two other Arsenal stars reportedly also demanded to leave the club during the latest window.

Ozil Fires Back At Arsenal Legends Who Criticise Him

According to BBC journalist David Ornstein, Germany international Shkodran Mustafi and Spain defender Hector Bellerin let Arsene Wenger know that they wanted to leave the Emirates.

Serie A giants Inter Milan were chasing Mustafi's signature, while Bellerin wanted to leave the North London after hearing that his former club, FC Barcelona, had come calling.

During a recent Q&A session on Twitter, Ornstein, who is a known to be a respected Arsenal insider, spilled the beans on both players' situations.

"Arsenal encountered problems with some of those they did not want to lose," Ornstein said via the social network.

"For example, Hector Bellerin returned from the U21 Euros to tell Wenger he wanted to leave amid interest from Barcelona.

"Shkodran Mustafi asked to leave, which suited Arsenal because it gave them the chance to replace a player they were disappointed with last season, except they failed to land a replacement."

The Gunners did, however, lose Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Premier League rivals Liverpool on deadline day.

Do you think Arsenal can afford to lose any more players in the January transfer window? Have your say in the comments section below.

Mxm our management is letting us down serious I thought they were gonna do a thorough reshuffling before this season resume,a majority of the players we have are not Arsenal material at all they show lacklustre performances week in week out, this bunch of players don't respect Arsenal badge at all,we used to have fighters, the management need to rope in a lot of our legends in the club in order to identify the rightful players for the club, the likes of Ray Parlour,Tony Adams,Dennis Bergkamp etc deserve to command telling positions in terms of scouting talented players around the globe,Wenger had ran out of ideas long time ago,the money is there now there's no excuse for not compete with other big dogs

They must all request to leave and see who Wenger is going to Coach. Arsenal and Chiefs are th same pity i support both of them imagine if Wenger was a Chiefs coach and working with Bobby both of them stingy and incompetent i hate my teams.

@Dangerous when provoked V.Persie left Wenger (to win League) Sagna, Nasri etc and the rest will follow they are tired of playing for a used to be big teams that only win 1small trophy every season, some leave for more game time like the Morata's it's always been part of the game that's why some claimed Mourinho only wins with Money yet the Guardiolas spend more and end up with no trophy, different views and opinions but all part of the game Kaizer Chiefs is like Arsenal only think of profit and we are left fighting players for wanting out

We say, hear about changes and people favouring transformation etc and some against. Truth be told that some of the deliberations are tantamount to a destruction of this great game. Commercialization is another factor which is slowly but surely killing the game. We find now players asking to be released because they are promised more by opposition clubs or other clubs as well as greed from clubs equaly so from Bosses and Agents. The players as a result suffer at the end. Some are forced to ask to leave a club yet they agreed to the previous contract. They go for more salaries and as a result are not in the line up, they end up sitting in the benches losing game time and fitness. As a result they end up resorting to unhealthy eating style. They eat at the so called "shisanyama" outlets. They buy expensive cars and clothes attracting girls instead of being in the field of play. As time goes on, they are loaned out to small teams. Eventually are fired. They lose the girlfriends, cars and even the houses.
